Advanced course in Plant Protection (Pathology/Entomology) focussing on
host-parasite physiology, population genetics and biology and molecular methods. Case studies of
specific plant protection issues in organic farming will be embedded in the course. Also: one-day
excursion to Biologische Bundesanstalt in Darmstadt.
Students are expected to turn in homework on a regular basis. Course grade based on midterm and
final written exam.

Nematology

This is a course aimed at students with a more in-depth interest in Nematology. The focus is on
learning how to sample and identify plant parasitic nematodes to species and to broaden the general
background knowledge. It builds on basic knowledge in Plant Pathology. Block course yearly in
September: 2 week block with emphasis on laboratory works.
